FDU’s 32-credit Master of Science in Biology is excellent preparation for a myriad of career opportunities both in the laboratory — and beyond. Offered at FDU’s Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, NJ, the program also offers two concentrations in addition to the core program.
Some of our graduates choose to pursue admission to medical or other professional schools. Others apply their expertise to careers that link biology to some of the major social and economic challenges facing the world today — pandemics and public health, environmental sustainability, resistance to antibiotics, and more.
Whatever your career path, you are encouraged to tailor the M.S. in Biology degree program to align with your personal interests and professional goals. Two 12-credit concentrations also are available:
Biotechnology Concentration: The fast-growing biotechnology industry has created a high demand for skilled professionals. This 12-credit concentration can help you build the skills these employers demand. Courses include Topics in Bioinformatics, Molecular Biotechnology, Immunology, Human Genetics, Bioethics, and Advances in Pharmacology.
Business Concentration: This 12-credit concentration is especially attractive to scientists who want to become bio-entrepreneurs. Courses include Foundations of Management, Marketing Principles, Organizational Behavior and Leadership, Strategic Marketing, and Social Media Strategy.
All students enrolled in FDU’s M.S. in Biology can complete the degree with or without pursuing the research/thesis option.
