The Department of Communication at FDU offers a flexible, versatile and relevant Master of Arts in Communication designed to be an asset to any individual with an interest in the role of communication in cultural, interpersonal, and public context.
The M.A. in Communication degree is particularly relevant if you plan to enter, or seek to advance, as a corporate communication professional in areas such as public relations, marketing, human resources, investor relations, and media relations. It is also an excellent foundation if you are interested in pursuing advanced degrees in communication or related disciplines.
Key attributes of the M.A. in Communication program:
- The 30-credit program is based around a theory-based curriculum that incorporates communication principles and practices into applied learning.
- There are seven required courses for the degree that focus on problem-solving, teamwork, writing and editing, research and analysis, oral and written presentation, and project management. Additional electives allow you to tailor your studies to your career goals and interests.
- You have the option of participating in a 12-day international symposium on communication and culture at FDU’s historic Wroxton College in Oxfordshire, England. The seminar offers insights into communication worldwide, featuring panel discussion and lectures conducted by recognized international experts from business, academia, politics, and the media.
- The GRE is not required for admission.
The program is offered on FDU’s Florham Campus in Madison, NJ, and graduate assistantships and scholarships are available.
